Everything you need to know about Bluffton's Nov. 26 Blaze of Lights
NOTE: A parade map is an attachment at the bottom of this story
By Fred Steiner
Q: What’s one quarter century old, but ever changing?
A: Bluffton’s Blaze of Lights. This year’s Blaze continues a tradition launched in 1986 when the Harry and Dorothy Ream outdoor Christmas folk art display moved from rural Jenera to Bluffton.
1,406+ linear feet of new holiday garland goes up in downtown
You should soon be able to read a book on Main Street Bluffton at anytime after the sun goes down. Main Street will be bright enough.
On Saturday, approximately 1,406 linear feet of new Christmas garland, 13 4-foot lighted snowflakes, and 19 lighted pole wraps will be hung by the Bluffton Fire Department. It’s all in anticipation of this year’s 25th annual Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Blaze of Lights. (The lights will not be turned on until the week of Thanksgiving.)
Here’s a final breakdown of costs for the project:
Taxes and Quickbook workshop followed Nov. 11 chamber breakfast

Time to enter your float or unit in the Nov. 26 Blaze of Lights parade
It’s not quite Halloween, but the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Blaze of Lights Committee is hard at work planning this year’s 25th annual event. The committee extends two special invitations: one for parade entries and another for Blaze sponsors.
Parade
The committee extends an invitation to all area businesses, organizations, clubs and churches to consider entering a float or entry in the Blaze parade. Junior Weihrauch of Arlington, the parade coordinator, anticipates one of the largest Blaze parades ever this year.
